claude-vibes - Voice notifications for Claude Code

How it works

Claude Code fires lifecycle hooks as it works. claude-vibes listens and plays a random voice clip for each event.

Install

Install the plugin with claude plugin install (or the /plugin menu). Its hooks register automatically — nothing is copied into ~/.claude and your settings.json is left untouched.

Hook

Claude Code fires Stop and Notification events as it works — including when it needs your permission.

Play

The plugin's hook scripts pick a random .mp3 from the matching category and play it with afplay. The Notification hook is dispatched: a permission prompt plays a random permission voice, everything else plays the system glass chime.

Claude Code → Hook event → play-random.sh → Random voice clip

Customize

Regenerate all sounds with a different voice, or speak any phrase on the fly.

Regenerate all 26 clips with a different OpenAI TTS voice from inside Claude Code. Choose from alloy, echo, fable, nova, onyx, or shimmer.
